The official definition of ambush marketing is all intentional and unintentional attempts to create a false or unauthorized association (whether direct or indirect) with the event. Ambush marketing includes a third part use of creative means to generate a false association with the event; a third part infringement of the various laws that protect the use of events properties and a third part interference with the legitimate marketing activities of official partners.
